And it’s in. The physical proof that I wrote something. While sitting in my home office waiting to kick off a teleconference, the kind UPS man dropped this off on my doorstep. I’m not going to lie…it was hard to focus on managing projects when my newly printed proof was sitting right next to me.
It’s not perfect. There are some minor tweaks that I need to make, which is infuriating since it’s so close to being perfect that I’m tempted to say “never mind, just ship it!” But as in all things indie, it’s best to take a deep breath and think: would a reader who paid good money for your novella be as forgiving of the “minor” problems you see? I doubt it. The resolution of the cover image isn’t adequate, and some of the text that leads in to the opening chapter is slightly askew. So I’ll review tonight, hopefully make the changes, and get another copy by early next week.
But still…isn’t it beautiful? You can bet I’ll update you as soon as the corrected copies come in.

Congrats!!! So exciting!
Thank you! It is exciting. If I can get the edits through by the end of the week, I might have the next proof early next week. That will be pretty awesome.
Cool… you’re right though, it needs to be as perfect as you can make it. Looking forward to reading it 🙂
