A taste of Vampires for #samplesunday

As I move to finish my latest short story, I thought I’d share with you the last time I ventured into the world of vampires. You’ll notice that I’m not on board with living dead as they are seemingly portrayed today. I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here at the moment, but I’ll just say that you won’t find needy, emotionally scarred vampires in my writing. You’ll find that they are hungry, and the last thing they want is to cuddle. (Note: I’m not trying to disparage those that write this kind of vampire story. It’s just not my cup of tea).

“That granite tombstone really brings out the hazel in your lovely eyes.”

I wrote the below article for Associated Content (now Yahoo! Voices) over two years ago, just as I had finished my first manuscript. I’ll probably rebroadcast it at Halloween time, or maybe I’ll include it in the anthology that I hope to publish my soon to be completed story, In Vampire Ligno.

I hope you enjoy it. If you do, or even if you hate it, please leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you.
